ABOUT THE IMPACT AWARDS
Penn State is the world’s leading service-oriented University with a long history of students and alumni who create change in the world. Part of that legacy of service are Penn State alumni student-athletes, who continue that mandate into their adult lives. The Make an Impact fund at the Centre Foundation is a non-profit charged with recognizing the community service of former student athletes. Through the generosity of alumni and friends, the Impact Awards will acknowledge the honorees’ efforts with financial grants for their respective charities.

Is my donation tax deductible? Yes. The Make an Impact Fund is part of a charitable non-profit organization. The Make an Impact Board is an all-volunteer organization.
Where does the money go? Proceeds from the annual dinner will go to financial grants to charitable foundations of the annual honorees to further their impact.
Will this be an annual event? Yes, that is the vision behind the Impact Awards.
How were the honorees chosen? The Honorees were selected by a five-person committee. The first year’s honorees were selected from Penn State alumni athletes. Beginning with football, the committee selected alumni working specifically on education-based projects.
What about future honorees? In the future the committee will seek candidate recommendations from any former athlete of of Penn State’s women’s and men’s teams in a variety of service-oriented fields.
